AANA Journal (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists)

Founded in 1931, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is the professional association representing nearly 53,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and student registered nurse anesthetists nationwide. The AANA promulgates education and practice standards and guidelines, and affords consultation to both private and governmental entities regarding nurse anesthetists and their practice.

Anaesthesia (open access) 

Anaesthesia is the official journal of the Association of Anaesthetists and is international in scope and comprehensive in coverage. It publishes original, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of general and regional anaesthesia, intensive care and pain therapy, including research on equipment. 

Anesthesia and Analgesia (abstracts only)

​ANESTHESIA & ANALGESIA is the "The Global Standard in Anesthesiology," and provides the practice-oriented, ​pre-clinical and clinical research you need to keep current and provide optimal care to your patients. Each monthly issue brings you peer reviewed articles on the latest advances in drugs, preoperative preparation, patient monitoring, pain management, pathophysiology, and many other timely topics.

Anesthesia: Essays and Researches (Coverage Exceptions  - 2 year delay; full-text) 

Covers technical and clinical studies related to anesthesia, pain management, intensive care and related topics including ethical and social issues.

What are Coverage Exceptions?

Coverage exceptions include gaps of a year or more. These may occur because of a change in contract terms with the publisher or other factors affecting content availability within the specified ranges.

Anesthesiology (2 year delay, request articles as option for newer articles) 

Anesthesiology is the official journal of the American Society of Anesthesiologists but operates with complete editorial autonomy. With an independent and internationally recognized Editorial Board, the Journal leads the specialty in promotion of original research by providing immediate open access to highlighted articles and free access to all published articles 6 months after publication, supported by an active press release program. 

British Journal of Anaesthesia (Open Access) 

The British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) publishes high-impact original work in all branches of anaesthesia, critical care medicine, pain medicine and perioperative medicine including fundamental, translational and clinical sciences, clinical practice, technology, education and training. In addition, the Journal publishes review articles, important case reports, correspondence and special articles of general interest.

Canadian Journal of Anesthesia (abstracts only) or Canadian Journal of Anesthesia (open access) 

Article types consist of invited editorials, reports of original investigations (clinical and basic sciences articles), case reports/case series, review articles, systematic reviews, accredited continuing professional development (CPD) modules, and Letters to the Editor. The editorial content, according to the mission statement, spans the fields of anesthesia, acute and chronic pain, perioperative medicine and critical care.

Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia (abstract only)

The Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia is primarily aimed at anesthesiologists who deal with patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgical procedures. JCVA is international in scope, with a multidisciplinary approach and emphasis on rapid publication of clinically relevant material.

Journal of Clinical Anesthesia (abstract only) 

The Journal of Clinical Anesthesia is a peer-reviewed medical journal covering a variety of topics in anesthesiology.

Local and Regional Anesthesia

Provides information on the development, pharmacology, delivery and targeting and clinical use of local and regional anesthetics and analgesics.

Obstetric Anesthesia Digest (abstract only) 

Provides information on the world literature in obstetric anesthesia.

Pediatric Anesthesia (abstract only) 

Pediatric Anesthesia is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by John Wiley and Sons covering research on the use of anesthetics in children.

PubMed

 PubMed is a free search engine accessing primarily the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics. The United States National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health maintain   the database as part of the Entrez system of information retrieval. PubMed comprises more than 30 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. 

Research and Opinion in Anesthesia and Intensive Care (Quarterly Journal) 

The journal covers technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of development, analgesia, anesthesia, and intensive care drugs.
